How to Make Zojirushi Blueberry Cake: Step-by-Step Guide
Introduction to Zojirushi Blueberry Cake
In this blog post, I’ll guide you through making a delicious blueberry cake using the Zojirushi bread machine. This recipe is perfect for those looking to explore new baking options with their Zojirushi appliance.
Ingredients and Preparation
To begin with, gather the following ingredients:
- 2.5 cups of freshly milled Kamut flour (grain mill I use)
- 3 tsp of apple pie spice
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 3 tsp of baking powder
- 1 tsp of baking soda
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp of bourbon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of coconut oil
- 2/3 cup of honey
- 2 cups of fresh blueberries
Mixing and Incorporating Ingredients
Start by combining the Kamut flour, apple pie spice, salt, baking powder, and baking soda in a bowl. In your Zojirushi baking pan with paddles attached, add lightly scrambled eggs, bourbon vanilla extract (or your favorite vanilla), coconut oil, and honey. Then, add dry mixture to bread pan.
Using the Zojirushi Bread Machine
- Insert bread pan with unmixed ingredients into machine.
- Plug into wall.
- Select the cake function on the machine and choose the medium to light crust setting.
- Start the machine and allow it to mix and bake the cake. It takes roughly 2 hours from start to finish.
- The Zojirushi handbook recommends unplugging machine once complete but letting pan sit in machine for additional 15 minutes before removing for cooling.
Adding Blueberries
After 11 minutes of mixing, the machine will signal. At this point, add the fresh blueberries into the mixture and allow the machine to complete the mixing and baking process.
Checking and Serving
Once the baking cycle is complete, let the cake cool for 15 minutes before removing it from the pan. Slice and serve the delicious Zojirushi blueberry cake!

Would I buy another Zline Range? What about their customer service? 2-Year Update
Checking Out My Experience with the Zline 36-Inch Dual Fuel Range
Evaluating the Zline Range: A Detailed Review
Introduction
When investing in a kitchen appliance, especially a high-end one like a range, reliability and performance mean a lot. Here, I talk about my experience with the Zline Black Stainless, 36-inch, Dual Fuel Range user, I talk about what happened and customer service (model RAB-BR-36).
We spent a lot of money on our Zline oven and when the oven works, it’s ok to a degree (pun intended). I want to be fair to Zline here because I know all ovens and appliances have issues. Our seems to reoccur, though, and while it is a headache, like I said, I want to be fair in my review and update here.
Customer Service and Support
Response to Issues
Despite the challenges, Zline’s customer service demonstrated responsiveness by promptly offering to replace parts not covered under warranty, although labor costs were paid for by us ($110). They called this a one-time courtesy, which we are thankful for. The $110 doesn’t include the follow-up installation of $130, so $240 total. I don’t know the price of the lower element yet, so if it wasn’t paid for by Zline, it would be added to the repair cost.
Longevity and Reliability Concerns
Maintenance Requirements
I’ll be honest. The recurring need for periodic servicing and potential repairs seemed to be common industry-wide challenges with larger ovens, notably reliability issues with heating elements and safety features. This is particularly true, in my research, with a 36″ oven.
Comparison with Alternatives
When I looked at alternative brands and models highlighted comparable issues across the market, it showed that while Zline’s challenges were not unique still bothersome to many people. I had considered just buying a whole new oven, until I looked around and saw lots of issues from all price ranges (again, pun intended.)
The Big Question: Would I Purchase Again? Did Zline Stand Behind their Product?
Reflecting on my experience, the decision to re-invest in a Zline Range hinges on several factors. Despite the operational glitches, the appliance’s functionality and customer service responsiveness was acceptable. I do wish it would be a tad quicker. I did the ticket by email on their site.
How does that affect my future purchasing decisions for kitchen appliances, big ones like an oven? One thing is for sure: Get a good warranty and know who the warranty company is. It may not be the company itself. Check out the best manufacturer *warranty*. And, check out who the “real” warranty service provider is and those reviews as well. In this case, we dealt only with Zline because we were out of warranty.
Did they stand behind their Oven? I will say yes, but I sure am tired of the yearly test to see what happens next.
Final Thoughts
The Zline Dual Fuel Range is nice looking, and it offers nice cooking versatility. But, its reliability concerns should make you carefully consider how you want to service the range after you’ve bought it. This would be the same for any costly appliance. I’ll say it again. Get a good warranty. I believe, at least at one time, when we first had issues ZLine used “OnPoint” as the Warranty provider. Check before you buy. I don’t know for sure what they are using as we weren’t under warranty (we missed it by a day or so wouldn’t you know?)
Now. What did I do for bread? We have to have it!
My Workaround
Glad I have my Zojirushi Bread Machine!
I want to share a new recipe I made in my Zojirushi Bread Machine using fresh blueberries, since my Zline is waiting for repair. You can jump to this part of the video right here.
Recipe for Blueberry Bread
- 12 oz. warm water
- 1/3 cup coconut oil
- 1/3 honey
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp of lecithin
- 3 tsp of apple spice (https://amzn.to/3WeomYZ)
- 1 1/2 cups of fresh blueberries.
YouTube Video Highlights of My ZLine Experience
- 00:41 🛠️ Zline oven has recurring issues, including heating element failures.
- 01:52 📦 Zline provided free replacement parts for out-of-warranty repairs.
- 03:25 💬 Mixed customer experiences with Zline products; issues with oven reliability.
- 05:40 💡 Larger 48-inch dual fuel ranges from other brands offer multiple ovens, potentially solving Zline’s single oven uneven baking issues.
- 06:21 🚗 Zline oven requires regular servicing akin to car maintenance due to recurring technical issues.
- 14:28 My Zojirushi Break Machine workaround for making bread (click here to see):
TL;DR
- Zline 36-inch Dual Fuel Range has had recurring issues with the heating element.
- Despite previous rewiring and repairs, the heating element has now malfunctioned again.
- Customer service from Zline has been responsive but not always immediate.
- They provided the replacement part for free, but the owner had to pay for labor costs.
- The oven’s reliability is questioned, with concerns about uneven baking and frequent repairs.
- Considering alternatives for future purchases, possibly looking into larger models with better features.
- Other Zline products like the vent Hood and microwave drawer have been satisfactory without issues.
- The dual fuel feature and additional burner are appreciated during use, especially for cooking holidays.
- There’s a comparison with other luxury brands like Viking and Café, all of which seem to have similar reliability issues with their ovens.
- Financial constraints limit options for replacing or upgrading to another brand.
- My workaround while my oven is waiting repair.

International Grocery Store Near Me | Big Haul
Discovering Great Deals at International Farmers Markets
In today’s bustling grocery scene, finding the best deals can feel like a treasure hunt. From large chains to local markets, each place offers its own unique advantages. However, if you’re looking to step outside the usual grocery routine and explore new options, International Farmers Markets might just surprise you with their offerings and prices.
Why International Farmers Markets?
International Farmers Markets are not just places to shop; they are cultural hubs where you can explore a wide array of fresh produce, unique ingredients, and diverse culinary traditions. Unlike traditional supermarkets, these markets often feature foods that cater to specific cultural diets and preferences. Whether you’re searching for a rare spice, exotic fruit, or specialty cut of meat, these markets can be a treasure trove for food enthusiasts.
Personal Experience with Austell Farmers Market
Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting the Austell Farmers Market (I put the Facebook page here. I’m not affiliated with them in any way), nestled off Austell Road and Floyd Road in Marietta/Mableton Georgia. Located conveniently within my county (Cobb), this market offered an experience that was both eye-opening and economical. Here’s what stood out:
- Affordability: Despite the misconception that international foods come with a hefty price tag, I found the prices at Austell Farmers Market to be surprisingly reasonable. For instance, I purchased a variety of fresh produce, including peppers, cabbages, and ginger, at a fraction of what I’d pay at mainstream supermarkets.
- Quality: One of the immediate differences I noticed was the quality of the produce. Items were often packaged with later expiration dates compared to those at traditional stores, indicating freshness and longevity.
- Diversity: The market boasted a wide selection of goods from around the world. From oxtails to oyster mushrooms, and from exotic fruits like minaga to everyday staples like tomatoes and onions, there was something to suit every palate.
Shopping Strategies and Tips
Navigating an International Farmers Market can be an adventure in itself. Here are some tips to make the most of your visit:
- Plan Ahead: Know what you need and have a rough budget in mind. The variety can be overwhelming, so a plan helps stay focused.
- Explore New Foods: Don’t be afraid to try something new. These markets often carry items not typically found in regular grocery stores, offering a chance to expand your culinary horizons.
- Check Dates and Quality: While freshness is generally high, it’s still wise to check expiration dates and inspect produce carefully to ensure you’re getting the best quality.
Conclusion
In conclusion, International Farmers Markets offer more than just groceries—they provide a cultural experience and an opportunity to support local farmers and small businesses. Whether you’re a seasoned cook looking for specific ingredients or someone looking to save while exploring new foods, these markets can be a game-changer in your shopping routine.
